We are seeking qualified EMS Instructors for our growing Education Center.

The Emergency Medical Services-Instructor will perform duties associated with instruction of EMS programs in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Medstar policies.


Will be responsible for:

Instruction of initial education programs including Medical First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic including both didactic and practical instruction/demonstration.

Instruction of all levels of EMS Refresher programs.

Instruction of additional continuing education programs.

Development and administration of scheduled quizzes and examinations.

Proper maintenance of student files to include: student registration forms, copies of required immunization records, copies of physical examination results, copies of progress reports, original written exam answer sheets, original practical exam answer sheets, completed clinical handbooks, and any other relevant documentation pertaining to the individual student.

Provision of a course summary at the conclusion of all courses including a performance evaluation for each student.

Maintenance of an on-site administration file for each course taught.

Develop lesson plans and presentation materials for each course taught.


Educational Requirements

Must have a minimum of either a high school diploma or a GED as evidence of completion of a high school education.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan driver's license

Must possess American Heart Association BLS Instructor Coordinator certification

Must possess valid State of Michigan Paramedic license

Must possess valid State of Michigan Paramedic-Instructor-Coordinator license

Minimum Experience, Abilities Required and Special Requirements

Must possess basic working knowledge of Windows computer, and be able to enter necessary data into a computer.

Must possess basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Microsoft Excel programs.

Must have proof of minimum of 2 years experience teaching EMS courses.
